 Dear Readers,

Today has been more relax and not so hectic overall. As a bonus the sun stayed with us pretty much all day.

We set off at 9am to the coast, to Saint-Nazaire where we were scheduled to visit a submarine.

Its name is "l'Espadon" and the tour was really good and interesting. We started off from the outside of it and learnt few fact about it. We were given audio guides to help us understanding how it worked.

On the pictures below, you can see the submarine and one of the group listening to the introductory comments.

The tour took us through all the room of the submarine where we learnt a great deal about life on such a "ship". Unfortunately, it was forbidden to take any picture inside the "Espadon"... Therefore here is a picture of the same group as earlier on the other side of the submarine.

After that we went onto the rooftop to look at the view of the estuary... Really amazing... Especially on such a sunny day!... And look at the background, this is the ship we'll be travelling on back home... or so we wish... Although nowadays, can we really trust that kind of ship?!?... Naaaaaah, we'll use the old good fashion ferry ;-)

We decided to go to the coast to have our lunch which ended up on the coach because of a silly bridge which, for some unknown reason, got stuck. Anyway, to cut a long story short, we got out of there and made our way via the coast road to our afternoon destination: Guérande. There, people enjoyed some leisurely shopping time buying crêpes and souvenirs.

It has been a pleasant day and I do believe that all the pupils have enjoyed it, and I do want to wish on behalf of the staff and pupils a very HaPpY BiRtHdAy to HAYLEY... We do hope she really enjoyed her day!

Your Blogger,

FR-J

  1. Great pictures; really enjoying the blog, thankyou. Relieved to read that the pupils were listening to audio guides by the submarine, and not phoning each other!
