Hello everyone,

We are having a great time despite the weather. I didn't write simply because I didn't hear from the pupils at all... which a very good thing :-D

And indeed, they seemed to have all settled down really well in their host families. Some went to see football or rugby games, some met with each other, some went bowling, one of them went to a zoo and another one went to the seaside... To sum it all up, they have been warmly welcome. As for the food, no one said anything bad about it and we have even one pupil who actually tasted snails... Apparently, she's going to taste frog's legs later on this week!!!

Today was a busy day. We started the day with a talk from the Headmistress who explained the French education system. Then it was time to attend a lesson.

Some went to English lessons, some to Technology, four did a German class and the rest did Maths!!!

Then we had breaktime :-)

After break, we had to go to the townhall where we were greeted by two councillors, who gave us some information about the area and answered pupils'questions who showed great interest.

We were offered what the French call: "Le verre de l'amitiĆ©" (the friendship drink).

Then the local paper turned up to do a photo call.

AND THEN IT WAS FOOD TIME!!!
Most of us enjoyed the experience of the canteen, and only a few went home for lunch.

In the afternoon, we were supposed to go visit a mine and do some outdoor activities, but the weather being unpredictable, we decided on a change of plan and we went to visit a museum in a nearby town with all our penfriends.

We returned in time to catch the school buses and parents to take us home.
It's been an interesting and eye opening day for everyone.

I hope you will enjoy today's catch up and I am looking forward to posting some more updates as the days go by :-D

Your Bloggers,

FR-J (with the kind help of our chauffeur)
